Creating a 3D printed plastic and wood table lamp with a built-in wireless phone charger.
YEAR
2020
PLATFORM/MATERIAL
Fusion 360/Wood, PLA
With some simple scrap 2x2's and a 3D printer, I was able to create the main structure. I deconstructed a lamp laying around my house to "steal" the wiring and light socket.
One of the most exciting parts of this project for me was to be able to design and add the wireless charger into the base of the lamp. This makes it very easy to charge my iPhone and AirPods.
No screws, nails, or glue was used in the assembly process which allows this lamp to easily be taken apart and transported. Furthermore, the wood pieces can be swapped out for longer or shorter ones as desired.
