Delivered a mobile-first interface and design system for Auto Insurance of America’s agent platform, improving usability and aligning with user needs.

Delivered a mobile-first interface and design system for Auto Insurance of America’s agent platform, improving usability and aligning with user needs.

The Problem

Auto Insurance of America (AIA), a Vermont-based provider expanding nationwide, needed a more efficient agent platform for creating, editing, and searching insurance quotes. Their existing Web Agent Pro (WAP) system lacked user insight and was cumbersome for both agents and managers, making everyday tasks slow and difficult to navigate.

The Solution

We designed a mobile-first web application that made it easier for agents to create, manage, edit, and search quotes in one clear, streamlined experience. Through user research and testing, we identified key workflow pain points and translated them into a new design system and intuitive interface that reduced friction across common tasks. I worked closely with another designer and cross-functional partners to deliver comprehensive design comps to development, with weekly check-ins to ensure alignment and smooth implementation.

We began by speaking with stakeholders to understand their perspective, then iteratively created wireframes and conducted user testing, refining designs based on feedback. User and competitor research, along with personas, helped us create higher-quality prototypes and a more user-centered solution.

STYLE GUIDE

STYLE GUIDE

We created a comprehensive style guide to ensure consistency, accessibility, and a clean, approachable user experience across the platform.

We created a comprehensive style guide to ensure consistency, accessibility, and a clean, approachable user experience across the platform.

The style guide covers all aspects of the design system, from typography, colors, and spacing to buttons, input fields, and illustrations. It ensures visual consistency, accessibility, and a welcoming, approachable interface. The logo, featuring a moving tire, communicates speed and reliability, while the sans-serif font adds comfort and trust. Accent colors like violet and tangerine highlight actions such as hovers or presses, and slightly rounded corners make components feel friendly rather than sharp. Input fields use dropdowns and autofill to save time and reduce errors. Spacing follows an 8 pt grid system for consistency, and illustrations balance AIA’s growth with their local, personal feel. Every component meets AAA WCAG accessibility standards.

Adding a driver

Another key component in the Web Agent Pro system is the quote search process. Agents often follow up with customers after some time or provide customers with a number of different quotes, so being able to filter through created quotes has proved to be important. A familiar and straightforward filtering system was implemented. The cards in the search results contain valuable information that is easily readable at a glance, like the quote status, value, and customer/quote info.
